EGG-XTRAVAGANT SUCCESS FOR YORKSHIRE CHILDREN’S CHARITY

Easter Campaign

With the generous help from businesses across the region, this week Yorkshire Children’s Charity has been able to deliver more than 1,500 eggs to children at disadvantaged schools in the North and East of Yorkshire.

Donated from a wide range or Yorkshire businesses including Morley Glass & Glazing, Ideas that Work, Prohibition PR and Alpha DMS, the Easter eggs have been received by children in primary schools including St George’s Primary School and Quay Academy, who may not have otherwise received a chocolate treat this year.

The Yorkshire Children’s Charity team was supported by Beal Homes in delivering the eggs just in time for Easter weekend, and have been blown away by the generosity from the region’s businesses in what was one of the charity’s first collections since its launch just over three months ago.

Charlotte Farringdon, CEO at Yorkshire Children’s Charity said: ‘This Easter Egg Drive is the first in a long line of simple, yet impactful initiatives that we have planned to support children across Yorkshire who may not have the opportunities that other children have available to them. It was great to see so many businesses get involved in our first collection of this kind – it’s a really important part of the charity’s work.”

Ms Good, Business Manager at Brooklands Community Special School, adds: ‘The children were absolutely thrilled with the Easter Eggs – it’s been a really special surprise for them so please pass our thanks to all involved. I could see on the day how many obstacles you removed to help many schools not just ours.’

The schools who received egg donations this year are all going to be part of Yorkshire Children’s Charity’s School Network – where schools are partnered with a dedicated volunteer who will work to identify the social and economic challenges their community faces and then get them involved in fundraising campaigns, such as winter shoes and coats appeals.
