Hello, we’re Yorkshire Children’s Charity

Yorkshire Children's Charity exists to make things better for children and young people across Yorkshire. We do this by supporting children at a disadvantage, whether it be due to sickness, disability or financial challenges.

We provide the basics children need today, reach those who need support through referral partners, including schools, child service professionals, and community organisations, delivering grants directly to those who need them most, whilst bringing businesses, communities and supporters together to create longer-term change.

Our work is practical by design: coats, shoes, bedding, toiletries, educational resources, specialist disability equipment and wheelchairs, grants, days out and opportunities that help children feel included, valued and able to learn.

Children across Yorkshire need our help this winter, help us to raise £142,000 to keep them warm

For children living in poverty and destitution, something as simple as a warm coat, a pair of shoes, clean pyjamas or a warm bed can make an enormous difference. This winter we're expecting to support 3,000 children with these basic items, and we need your help!

We work with schools and community partners across Yorkshire to identify need and respond quickly. Our support helps children with the essentials they need to arrive warm, prepared and ready to learn, while also creating opportunities to enjoy new experiences, days out, and mentoring that helps build confidence and broaden horizons.

‘We’re here for every child who needs us’

When a local primary school identified a family struggling to afford winter essentials, Yorkshire Children's Charity stepped in with warm clothing, bedding and toiletries. What began as practical support soon helped rebuild trust between the family and school, improving attendance, wellbeing and confidence. It's just one example of how working together can change a child's future.
