Many hands make light work; but also changes lives

Individual Fundraising

Thank you for your interest in joining our fundraising family. Yorkshire Children’s Charity exists solely to help children in our region who are disadvantaged due to ill health, disability, or financial circumstance. We receive no government funding and work really hard to provide for those who rely on us. That’s why we need your help.

We have lots of fundraising ideas to get you started, from challenge events to crafting. And never underestimate how much people are willing to support and give. Ask everyone you know to join your fundraising journey: people have big hearts, and it’s this generosity that makes a true difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people.

Many hands make light work, but also change lives. Fundraise with us, and we will be here to support you every step of the way.

From our family to yours, a very heartfelt ‘thank you’ for changing the lives of Yorkshire’s children.

A third of Yorkshire’s children are living in poverty.

Corporate Fundraising

Over 92,000 children in Yorkshire live with disabilities. A third of Yorkshire’s children are living in poverty.

At Yorkshire Children’s Charity, we see first-hand how the devastating impact poverty and ill health has on a child’s health, happiness, development and wellbeing. With your support, we know we can make a difference.

As a charity, we rely heavily on the strength and generosity of the Yorkshire business community. We’re proud to show you the difference your fundraising makes to the lives of children and young people in Yorkshire, and actively encourage our corporate partners to engage and build relationships with the children we support.

Honesty and transparency are important, so we’re always upfront with you as to how we spend your money. And we never take your support for granted. We place real value on the relationships we hold, constantly challenging ourselves and our offering to exceed our supporters’ expectations.

With your generosity, we can build a society focussed on accessibility and inclusiveness, with fun, freedom and independence for children and young people. Together, we can make childhood poverty a thing of the past.

We would love the opportunity to show you how your support can make a difference.

All children have the right to the best education

Great Yorkshire Build

All children have the right to the very best education, and school facilities have a big part to play. Yet at Yorkshire Children’s Charity we’ve experienced, first-hand, the outdated, insufficient and inadequate facilities at many of our region’s SILC and SEN Schools. To change that, we’ve created a brand-new initiative: Yorkshire’s Big Build. Through this scheme, we’ll be able to deliver state-of-the-art school facilities, creating environments where staff feel re-energised to teach and children are excited to learn.

The Great Yorkshire Build is an initiative that is widely recognised by the Yorkshire commercial and residential property sector. It’s also supported by many of the region’s building contractors and suppliers, both large and small. We rely on people in professional services, such as architects, quantity surveyors and project managers, to lend their time to deliver projects, from design to execution. Working together, we create brighter futures for the children of today and give back to our communities.

Ask for help

The Great Yorkshire Build projects are often determined by the location of our partners and contractors. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to accept applications from all schools. To find out which areas we cover, or if you feel your school would benefit from a Great Yorkshire Build then get in touch and we’ll keep your details on file if we find a suitable contractor.

Alternatively, if you work in the Yorkshire property industry and would like to lend your services to a Great Yorkshire Build, please email us.

A lasting improvement to the lives of local children

Leave a Gift in Your Will

Include Yorkshire Children’s Charity in your will, and you’ll make a lasting improvement to the lives of local children.

Our ability to make a difference depends entirely on you. When you donate to us in your will, we’re able to use the money to fund wheelchairs, develop school facilities, and give our region’s children a way out of poverty.

We want every single person who supports us to help build our future. If you wish, you can say how you’d like us to use your gift, and we’ll do our best to honour it to meet our current aims. We can also stay in touch with your family and friends, letting them know how the money you’ve so kindly gifted has made a direct improvement to the lives of the children who need it most.
