HERCMA's Holiday Homes Forever raises over £70k to support children in Yorkshire
Guests at HERCMA’s annual dinner played their cards right on 13 September, raising an incredible £71,955 at a James Bond-themed evening to remember.
Guests from across the holiday home and leisure sector donned their finery at the culmination of The Great Holiday Home Show for an evening of glitz, glamour, and in true 007 style, a little casino action!
During the evening’s festivities, the hilarious Omid Djalili had the audience in hysterics, and afterward guests danced the night away to the musical stylings of Flat Cap Brass.
Despite the unmistakably fun and celebratory atmosphere, at the core of the evening was a serious message. Guests heard the story of Yorkshire Children’s Charity beneficiary Linda, who was recently given new winter coats and shoes for her two young granddaughters of whom she has full custody.
The cost-of-living crisis is hitting families hard across our region and Linda’s story highlighted just how much many parents and carers are sacrificing to make ends meet, while struggling to even afford the everyday essentials that so many of us take for granted.
Guests dug deep in support of the charity, raising an amazing £75,588.02 over the course of the evening, every penny of which will support Yorkshire’s most disadvantaged children this winter.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who donated, pledged and took part in the silent auction on the evening. Your generosity will go a long, long way. We’re incredibly grateful to the event sponsors who made such a wonderful evening happen: thank you to Al-Ko, Bayram Timber, Belfield Home and Leisure, DC Advisory, DLL, DOMAPP, Gateway Chassis Solutions, Eltherington Leisure, MKM, Morco, Simplex and Yorkshire Plywood.
